SCDC & City Introduce “Comeback Cash”

Sheldon, Iowa — Now that restrictions placed on several types of businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic have been eased, the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation, along with the City of Sheldon, are announcing a promotion designed to help Sheldon businesses come back from the losses they suffered during the restrictions.

Sheldon Chamber Director Shantel Oostra says the ‘Comeback Cash’ promotion is similar to the ‘Merry Money’ promotion they run each December.

(As above) “We will be selling $250,000 in ‘Comeback Cash’ next week Tuesday, June 30th. It’s a promotion between the SCDC and the City of Sheldon.”

Unlike ‘Merry Money,’ Oostra says ‘Comeback Cash’ will be sold for one day only.

(As above) “The sale will be out at The Crossroads Pavilion event center starting at 7:00 AM and we will be selling until 7:00 PM, or until we are completely sold out of cash.”

She says ‘Comeback Cash’ will also be sold at a much greater discount than ‘Merry Money.’

(As above) “That cash can be purchased at a thirty-percent discount, with a maximum of $500 per household or business. So, if you purchase the full $500, you will pay $350 for that cash.”

Oostra says ‘Comeback Cash’ can be used at a number of Sheldon businesses.

(As above) “We have forty-two participating businesses, and we will be providing you with a list of the businesses when you come in to purchase the cash. There are also posters that are around town listing the businesses that will be participating in the promotion.”

She says your ‘Comeback Cash’ must be used within a one-month period.

(As above) “You will be able to start using your ‘Comeback Cash’ on Tuesday June 30th, and it will expire within thirty days. So the last day to use your ‘Comeback Cash’ will be Thursday July 30th.”

‘Comeback Cash’ will be sold at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center, next week Tuesday, June 30th, beginning at 7:00 am.
