Northwest Iowa — Democratic congressional candidate J.D. Scholten is scheduled to hold a pair of parking lot rallies in the KIWA listening area this week.
According to a release from the Scholten campaign, parking lot rallies are scheduled for Sibley on Wednesday and Sioux Center on Thursday of this week.
Scholten’s Sibley Parking Lot Rally is scheduled for 6:30 Wednesday evening at the Osceola County Fairgrounds, with doors opening at 5:45 pm. Then on Thursday, Scholten will hold a Sioux Center Parking Lot Rally at the Sioux County Fairgrounds. Doors for the event will open at 5:15 Thursday evening, with the rally scheduled to begin at 6:00.
At both rallies attendees will be greeted by volunteers wearing face masks and be directed to a parking space. Attendees are required to stay in their vehicles during the program and they’ll listen to Scholten’s speech, which will be broadcast over an FM radio frequency. The rallies will also be live-streamed at Facebook.com/Scholten4Iowa. Please note: there will not be a restroom available at these events.
While Scholten is in Sibley and Sioux Center, his campaign says he’ll also deliver yard signs to supporters, tour local businesses, and hear directly from people across the political spectrum in O’Brien, Lyon, Osceola, and Sioux counties as part of his Every Town Tour, going to all 375 towns in Iowa’s 4th district.
The Scholten campaign will also be collecting food and hygiene donations at both the Sibley and Sioux Center parking lot rallies for Iowans rebuilding and recovering from the derecho and deliver all donations later this week to those in need.
Again, the J.D. Scholten Sibley Parking Lot Rally will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30, with his Sioux Center rally scheduled for Thursday evening at 6:00.
Scholten will face Republican Randy Feenstra in the November general election, vying to represent Iowa’s 4th District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
