Sheldon, Iowa — The Board of Education of the Sheldon Community School District will hold their regular monthly meeting for November Wednesday afternoon (November 8th) beginning at 4:00 pm in the High School Library.
Among the items for discussion is the Superintendent search. Currrent Sheldon Superintendent Robin Spears earlier announced his intention to retire at the end of June, 2018. In an earlier meeting, the Board had elected to hire a search firm to recruit potential candidates to fill Spears’ position once he retires.
Spears is scheduled to give the Board an update on the District’s enrollment figures, along with an update on the Soccer program, during Wednesday’s meeting.
The Board is also expected to consider a request for early graduation, and consider adding a Technology Support Technician for the District.
Other items on the agenda include a review of the proposed 2018-19 District Calendar, as well as the designation of a Board member to serve on the District’s Negotiation Team to work out a contract with the teacher’s union for the 2018-19 school year.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 4:30 in the High School Library.
