Seasons Center To Present Movie Night In Sibley Saturday

Northwest Iowa — Seasons Center for Behavioral Health is hosting three community movie nights in Clay, Osceola, and Palo Alto counties as a way to promote safe family fun during the pandemic.

Kim Scorza, CEO/President of Seasons Center says that there have been significant impacts on their communities and families due to COVID-19 and this is just one small way that we can provide something fun for the whole family.

Seasons’ Marketing & Event Coordinator, Katie Ping tells us about it.

(as said:) “We are hosting some family-friendly events around northwest Iowa, one being on Saturday night at the Sibley High School and it’s a community movie night. And the intention is well, we’ll have a jumbo screen you’ll get to enjoy the movie that we have from the safety and warmth of your own vehicle. So it’s space where distance and our staff who will just bring you a little resource will come to your window and they’ll be masked. So all safe had just a really fun way for families to get out of the house. You have a night out while yeah keeping safe and just something fun for… something fun to do for the kids to do. It’s been a challenging year for so many of us and people have struggled with just across the board job loss, food insecurity, additional stress, and we just want to give back to our communities and provide something for families to do while providing crucial resources on how we can support you at Seasons Center with any challenges that you’re facing.”

She tells us why they’re doing this.

(as said:) “We want to get people out in the community in a safe way and to have a fun night out and we get to provide some resources on if you might be needing any support or you know, it’s great because when we hand out resources, you might know someone who could use our support to talk to someone, you know about our crisis line just have some tools in your tool kit if it’s not something that you need right now. Maybe it’s something that you’ll need in the future. It’s just good to know where you can turn.”

The movie “Trolls: World Tour” [Rated PG] will be shown Saturday night, December 5, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. at the Sibley High School, and Friday, December 11, 2020, at 5:30 PM at the Palo Alto County Fairgrounds in Emmetsburg. Everyone is to stay in their cars to ensure social distancing.
