Sheldon City Council To Discuss Grants For Children’s World At Today’s Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.

On their consent agenda are the minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, a liquor license renewal for Train Station 2, approval of a SCAT applicant, pay application number two for Western Avenue, the setting of dates and prices for cleanup week, a restricted funds agreement with the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corporation (SCDC), and the approval of independent fee estimate services for Sheldon Regional Airport. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.

The council will also hear from Cindy Voss and Hugh Lively from the transit service, “RIDES” and will consider approving funding for that service. They’ll consider the approval of a burn permit for a home at 415 West Park Street, submitted by the SCDC and Sheldon Fire Company Chief Brad Hindt. The council will also fix dates and times for public hearings on proposals for Children’s World. Both are regarding grant agreements.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
