Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
On their consent agenda are the minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, approval of a new liquor license for Axes-N-Irons, in the former J&B Bar location, the acceptance of a resignation from water operator Conner McDonald, a resolution appointing a delegate to Dakota Mainstem Regional Water System for their first meeting, and the reception and filing of financial reports.
In new business, the council will consider the promotion of Police Officer Timothy Loeschen to Sergeant and assuming the resolution passes, administer the oath of office. They’ll also hold a public hearing on and likely award a contract for the painting of the older water tower, or as it’s called in the agenda, the “West Elevated Tank Exterior Repainting” project.
The council will also consider a resolution “authorizing solicitation for proposals for disposal of 13th Avenue (north of 14th Street) vacated Right-of-Way.”
The council will also hear the annual report from Kiana Johnson about the O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation and a report from O’Brien County Emergency Management Director Jared Johnson.
The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
