Sheldon City Council To Talk EMS, Other Topics Wednesday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the Sheldon Community Services Center.

As part of their consent agenda, which is a group of items normally approved all in one motion, if they approve the motion, the council will approve minutes and financial reports, a class C alcohol license, the needed road closures for Village Northwest Unlimited’s Run, Walk & Roll on June 1, the north hangar bids, a request from AGP for a 24-hour closure of a portion West 8th Street and Railroad Avenue for the annual plant shutdown during the week of May 27th, a pay estimate for the Lewis & Clark project, the time and date for a hearing for the airport farm lease, an agreement with Planning Solutions for sign code updates, a resolution approving an Oak Street engineering services agreement, and a resolution implementing new ambulance rates.

In new business, the council will hear the annual report from SCAT and consider the approval of Krysten Haan’s resignation as full-time EMS coordinator, but remaining as SCAT Director. They will also consider a resolution setting the dates of a consultation and a public hearing on an amendment to the amended and restated Sheldon Urban Renewal Plan.

The meeting will begin at 4:30 this Wednesday afternoon at the Sheldon Community Services Center.
