Sheldon Council To Meet Wednesday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session this Wednesday (October 4th) in the council chambers.

On their consent agenda is setting of the date and time for a public hearing for the proposed Bethel site redevelopment, the reappointment of Beth Hamill to the Rec Trails Board, pay estimates for a number of projects, including the Lewis & Clark, storm sewer, street patching, water tower, and downtown hot mix asphalt projects. They will also consider the approval of two SCAT applicants.

In new business, the council is expected to hold a public hearing and have the third and final reading of the proposed code of ordinances. City Manager Sam Kooiker says this action will not change the zoning code and subdivision codes. The council will also consider an amendment to the fiscal year 2023-24 budget, complete with a public hearing.

They’ll also hear reports from Interim SCDC Director Mark Brown and EMA Director Wayne Barahona.
