Sheldon FFA Week

Sheldon, Iowa — National FFA Week is next week, from February 19th until the 25th.

Jacob Fox, an ag teacher at Sheldon High School, tells KIWA there is a lot planned for FFA Week, starting with a change drive. Four teachers have agreed to compete against each other. Fox says they will have containers in their rooms where students can bring all the change they have and put it into the containers. All proceeds will go to the school’s backpack program. Fox tells us that the teacher with the most change wins.

On Wednesday Fox tells KIWA the FFA will put on a teacher appreciation breakfast.

Fox says on Friday the students can drive their trucks or tractor to school. He explains there will be prizes for certain categories.

Also on Friday, Fox says, at the Friday Assembly there will be Egg Olympics. This is when students who aren’t in the FFA will compete in egg-related games. Also on Friday, Fox reveals there will be a chapter visit by the state officers.

He says FFA members will also visit with the 7th and 8th-grade students so they can see what FFA is about before they get into high school.

National FFA Week is all week from February 19th until the 25th.
