Sheldon, Iowa — Recently, the Sheldon Fire Company got some new rescue equipment, which they are learning how to use now. And they’ve never had anything like it before.
Brandon Winkel with the Sheldon Fire Company tells us more.
Winkel says they’ve had the boat for a little while now, but it took a long time to get it.
He says they’re training on how to use the boat now. He tells us a little more about the boat’s specifics.
Winkel tells us the boat and its equipment were totally paid for without the help of tax funds.
He says that the grant was from the O’Brien County Community Foundation, and it was in the amount of $2,819 for life jackets and rescue equipment.
Winkel says they couldn’t do these kinds of things without the public’s support at their annual fundraiser. He says they appreciate all the support and feedback that they get from the community.
