Sheldon Fire Company Gives Out Annual Awards

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Fire Company held its annual Christmas Party and gave out its yearly service awards recently and some individuals were honored.

Scott Ruden received an award for 20 years of service, and Nate White received an award for 10 years of service.

Fire Chief Brad Hindt says the Sheldon Fire Company is grateful for Ruden, White, and their families for the many years of service to the Fire Company.

The Sheldon Fire Company also gave out the first annual firefighter of the year award. Members were able to nominate a firefighter.

Some of the comments on the nominations received were —
“One of the hardest workers on the scene”
“Almost always in a good mood”
“Always willing to help wherever needed.”
“Has gone above and beyond while stepping into a new position.”
“After the year she had and the way she took over the position of secretary and has done an amazing job.”
“Ashley was elected to the position of secretary and has taken this head on with little to no training. She’s very organized, working to streamline many of the functions and coming up with new ideas. She took on the annual committee with full steam ahead and finished the last details during a truly difficult time in her life.”

Chief Hindt says that it was with great honor that they awarded this year’s Firefighter Of The Year Award to Ashley Korver.
