Sheldon Graduate To Appear On NBC’s Chicago Fire

tobimattingly2aSheldon, Iowa — A graduate of Sheldon Community High School will make an appearance in an episode of a network TV drama later this month.

Tobi (Lowrance) Mattingly, a 1995 Orab graduate, is set to appear in a single-episode co-star role on the NBC hit television series Chicago Fire. Episode #511 “Who Lives and Who Dies” is currently set to air on Tuesday, January 17th.

Mattingly is the daughter of Boyden residents Audrey (Boone) and Robert Winter and the granddaughter of longtime Sheldon residents Bernard Boone and his late wife, Agatha.

We talked to Mattingly, and asked her what she could share about her Chicago Fire role, without giving away too much information.

Mattingly talked about the audition process for her Chicago Fire role.

She said the second day’s audition went much like the first.

Mattingly says there is much more than just the audition performance that figures into how the roles are cast.

Mattingly received a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Millikin University in 1999 and moved to Chicago shortly thereafter. She has worked in theatre and music for close to twenty years, as a stage actor, director, and music director. While she’s done some regional on-camera work, the role on Chicago Fire represents her first national on-camera booking to date.
