Spirit Lake, Iowa — Representative John Wills, a Republican from Spirit Lake is ready to start the new legislative session on Monday in Des Moines.
Wills’ district includes all of Lyon and Osceola Counties and part of Dickinson County.
He tells us one of his priorities this year will be the tax code.
He says there will be other important topics to consider as well.
Wills says he’s drafting some legislation and collaborating with others to cut taxes, among other objectives.
Wills says he’s looking forward to working together with other Republicans.
Representative Wills says water quality will also be a priority. He says one of the challenges they will have is having to make budget cuts basically as soon as the gavel falls.
