Sheldon High School Summer Theatre Opens 49th Season This Weekend

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon High School Summer Theatre is set to open their 49th season Thursday night when Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple, the female version, opens at Sheldon High School.

This year was supposed to be the 50th year of SHS Summer Theatre, but last year’s season had to be cancelled to due the pandemic. The director of this week’s production, Madeline Gude, says they’re excited to be able to do shows this summer.

Gude says there will be multiple shows during this summer theatre season.

She tells us how to get tickets for The Odd Couple, the female version.

The show has two lead characters and Rose Hoogers plays one of them. She tells us about her character.

The other lead, Ada Borer, tells us about her role.

Gude says that, unlike some of the stories that Sheldon High School Summer Theatre brings to life, everyone is familiar with the story of The Odd Couple.

Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple, the female version, will be performed this Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 8:00 each evening in the Sheldon High School Commons. Tickets will be available at the door each evening.
