Sheldon, Iowa – The Sheldon Prairie Queen Kiwanis Club will be holding their Annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive this weekend. This drive has always been one of their most successful projects, and they hope that this year will be no different.
This Friday and Saturday, June 5th and 6th, Kiwanis members will be at Hy-Vee in Sheldon from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm and at Dollar General and Fareway in Sheldon from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.
Community members are encouraged to consider purchasing peanut butter, jelly, or both, when they come into the stores and drop off their donations at the table that will be set up at the entrance. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Donations will be distributed to Children’s World and the St. Patrick’s Food Bank, as well as the summer lunch programs hosted by the Sheldon Community School District and Sheldon United Methodist Church. Any excess donations will go to the Upper Des Moines Food Bank in Primghar.
