Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Police Department is requesting help from the public with identifying who is responsible for damaging several street and traffic signs in Sheldon during the past month. Officers say most of the signs have been struck by a vehicle and have either been broken off or bent over. They say a double arrow sign was also stolen from the intersection of Country Club Road and East 9th Street.
The police also advise that a person or persons have been vandalizing the men’s restroom at the Sheldon City Park. The toilets were plugged in an attempt to make them overflow and the toilet paper dispenser was destroyed. The most recent incident at this restroom involved setting the trash can on fire.
It is unknown if the incidents are related.
Anyone with information on the identity of any of the people involved with these crimes is asked to contact the Sheldon Police Department. Callers will be able to remain anonymous.
