Sheldon Pool To Go To The Dogs

Sheldon, Iowa — An August Sheldon tradition for dogs and their humans is happening again on Sunday.

Called the “Doggie Dip,” the event happens after the closing of the pool season at the Sheldon Outdoor Aquatic Center. Sheldon Recreation Director Jacob Kerr tells us about it.

He says if you need to, you can get in the water with your dog, but due to hygiene reasons, it’s not recommended. Kerr tells us that they only want dogs that have been spayed or neutered and are up-to-date on their vaccinations. He tells us some more things to keep in mind if you and your best friend are headed for the “Doggie Dip.”

Again, it is a free event for dogs and humans, and it’s this Sunday, August 19th at the Sheldon Outdoor Aquatic Center from 5:15 to 7 p.m.
