Sheldon, Iowa — The figures from the 2020 Census are now available, and Sheldon’s population is up since the last Census in 2010.
Sheldon Development Director Curt Strouth gives us the information.
He tells us why that’s good news.
He says they also compared the data with some from Iowa State University Extension to get an idea of what the Census data means.
Strouth says that census data, and specifically population is one of the factors that businesses use when they decide where to locate. He also tells us that existing business growth is important to Sheldon and that a number of businesses have expanded, which is a good thing for the community.
He tells us that there are a number of things that may have helped the population grow.
