Sheldon UMC’s Summer Lunch Program Wrapping Up The Season On A Positive Note

Sheldon, Iowa — Folks at the Sheldon United Methodist Church are wrapping up the Summer Lunch Program for 2021, and things have gone very well.

That from the program’s director, Michelle Noack.

Noack tells us that they have been serving an average of between 70 and 80 meals per day. She says they try to make sure that families with kids know about the meals, but it’s not all kids.

She tells us that there has been a hot meal almost every day, but if the kids didn’t like what was being served, they could also have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Noack says most of their meals are quite kid-friendly. She says they really appreciate the donations they receive.

Noack says she wants to thank all the donors and volunteers — without which they couldn’t offer the program. As far as the future, she says as long as there’s still a need and the donations continue to come in, they’ll continue to offer the Summer Meal Program.
