Sheldon, Iowa — If you love waffles and you want to support the trails in Sheldon, there’s an event coming up that you won’t want to miss.
The Sheldon Recreational Trails Committee is sponsoring the annual Belgian Waffle Supper on Monday evening, December 2nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sheldon Community Services Building.
According to the Sheldon Rec Trails Committee, the first trails grant was applied for in 1995, and the first successful grant was received in 1999. Committee members say the trail system is a huge asset to the community of Sheldon. They tell us that their fundraising is basically used to match grants.
The annual fundraiser has been going for nearly 20 years. Donations are also accepted.
Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Children under the age of 5 eat free. Carry-out is also available.
Tickets are available at Melissa Remme State Farm, Peoples Bank, Citizens State Bank, from Sheldon Rec Trail members, or they tell us you can purchase your tickets online at the Sheldon Rec Trails Facebook page.
