Sheldon Teacher’s Union Presents Initial Bargaining Proposal

Sheldon, Iowa – During the regular meeting of the Sheldon School Board Wednesday, the Sheldon Education Association, the union representing the teachers in the Sheldon Community School District, presented their initial collective bargaining proposal to the Board.

That’s Superintendent Cory Myer. He says the union’s proposal was for a “very respectable amount” of increase in salary and benefits.

Myer says the union’s initial proposal speaks to the relationship between the Sheldon Community Schools and its teachers.

Myer tells us where the negotiation process goes from here.

Also at Wednesday’s meeting, Myer gave the Board an update on the remodeling of the District’s new Preschool building, which is expected to be completed sometime next month.
