Hospers, Iowa — A Sheldon teen was flown to a Sioux Falls hospital after an accident on Friday near Hospers.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday, October 28, at 9:16 p.m., 16-year-old Esperansa De Hoogh of Sheldon was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Kingbird Avenue, six miles northwest of Hospers, when she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the east ditch and struck an embankment.
The sheriff’s office says the Hospers Ambulance took De Hoogh to the Orange City Hospital. She was later flown to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
The Chevrolet sustained approximately $2,000 in damage.
The Sheriff’s Office says the accident remains under investigation.
