Sheldon United Fund Continues To Lag Somewhat Behind Pace

Sheldon, Iowa — The 2018 Sheldon United Fund could use your help. Giving is not keeping pace with the goal.

The drive continues through the rest of the year. The goal this year is $31,000.

The fund drive is now 62% finished. The funds are at about 55% of goal, at $17,015. If giving were on-pace for the goal, the funds would be at about $19,000 by now. Almost $14,000 has yet to be raised. To finish on goal, the drive now needs to average about $2800 per week through the rest of the year. In the last week, donors gave $600.

Contributions to any or all of the organizations served by the Sheldon United Fund may be left at any of the four Sheldon banks, or you can also send them to PO Box 41, Sheldon, IA 51201. Explanations of the organizations are also available at the banks.

Each week we’re mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:

·Sheldon Prairie Museum
·Sanford Sheldon Home Health & Hospice
·Sheldon Recreational Trails
·Sheldon Youth Activities – Scholarships
·Special Olympics, Iowa
·Upper Des Moines Opportunity
·Village Northwest (for therapy equipment)

The United Fund will be assisting 21 different organizations in Sheldon and the surrounding communities this year, and the board members thank the businesses and individuals of Sheldon and the surrounding communities for their continued support.
