Sioux Center Chiropractors Agree To Reimburse Medicaid $30,418

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center chiropractic clinic, and the two chiropractors who operate it, have agreed to pay the federal government more than $30,000 to resolve allegations they violated the False Claims Act by billing Medicaid for the treatment of conditions for which payment is not allowed.

According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office in Sioux City, Sioux Center Chiropractic Wellness Center, P.C., along with Drs. Tyler and Tiffany Armstrong, have agreed to pay $30,418 to resolve the allegations that are related to Medicaid claims filed between April 2014 and July 2019. The settlement resolves allegations that the Armstrongs billed Medicare for treatment for such conditions as constipation and ear infections for Medicaid beneficiaries age seven and under.

The claims settled by the agreement are for allegations only, according to the release, which says they Armstrongs have made no admission nor has there been a judicial determination of liability.
