Hawarden, Iowa — This must be the season for Relay For Life events in northwest Iowa. Both O’Brien County and Sioux County will have their events on Tuesday of next week, June 11th. Lyon County is doing their event, which they call “Carnival for a Cure” on Thursday of next week — June 13th.
The Sioux County American Cancer Society Relay For Life will be at the Hawarden Community Center Park. One of the people helping to organize the event is Gerry Bomgaars. He tells us it’s part fund-raiser, part celebration, and part memorial service.

Again, that’s this coming Tuesday, June 11th, in Hawarden. Incidentally, Osceola County’s event is August 2nd at the Osceola County Fairgrounds in Sibley.
