Some Sheldon Phone Customers Experience Outage

Sheldon, Iowa — Some former HTC customers now with Premier in the Sheldon area experienced a telephone outage overnight early on Thursday.

Premier Communications Sales and Marketing Manager, Scott Te Stroete tells us about the area affected by the outage.

According to Te Stroete, the outage started with a power supply problem.

He says the original problem happened a little after 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning. He says various systems came back on around 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. But the defective “voice” card (the one affecting telephone service) wasn’t found and replaced until about 8:00 a.m.

Te Stroete tells us that not all of their systems were affected.

He says that if there had to be an issue, during the middle of the night is a much better time for it to happen than in the middle of the day. He says they also were glad that the whole system is monitored, so they knew about the issue and could act on it quickly.
