Sheldon, Iowa — Superintendent Robin Spears announced his intention to retire during Monday night’s monthly meeting of the Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education.
Spears has been in public education for 38-years, 35 of those in Iowa, with 21-years as Superintendent in the Sheldon District.
Spears took the occasion to thank the school boards with whom he has worked over the past 21-years, especially the one that hired him, for giving him the opportunity to serve the Sheldon Community School District, and for supporting the decisions made during his administration.
Spears’ resignation will be effective as of June 30th next year. He told the Board he made the announcement of his retirement early in the year to allow the Board ample time to find a suitable replacement.
