Northwest Iowa — Don’t put away those heavy coats, shovels, and snow-melt just yet. This Tuesday marks the first day of spring, but it’s possible that by this weekend, a large area of Iowa will be dealing with something we haven’t had much of this winter — winter weather.
Warning Coordination Meteorologist Peter Rogers from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls tells us what they’re looking at.
But before that system gets here, there is a slight possibility we could be dealing with some winter weather by Thursday.
He says at this time they know there’s a system coming, but the temperature and track of the storm could make a big difference.
So Rogers says people should stay tuned as more details are firmed up about the possible storm system this weekend and into next week.
