Sheldon, Iowa — While many people have been concerned about how and when high school graduations can be held, a Sheldon school is recognizing their 8th Grade Graduates.
If you’ve passed by St. Patrick’s Catholic School, at the corner of 4th Avenue and 11th Street in Sheldon, you’ve probably noticed signs in the front lawn. Each sign honors one of St. Patrick’s five 8th Grade graduates for 2020. The K-8 parochial school chose to honor their graduates with the signs this year, due to the schedules and plans disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The St. Patrick’s 2020 8th Grade graduates consists of: Cindy Arizmendi, the daughter of Faustino Arizmendi and Maria Ramirez; Johanna Martinez, the daughter of Benjamin & Luz Martinez, Brinda McCabe-Nuckols, the daughter of Chris Nuckols and Annie McCabe; Chase Pesek, the son of Lindsey Pesek and Thomas Pesek; and Luis Ramirez-Colin, the son of Virgilio Colin and Argelia Ramirez.
