STEM Fest Is This Weekend In Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa — Over 170 youth from around the area are going to gather at Dordt College in Sioux Center on Saturday for what’s become known as “STEM Fest.”

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Lyon County Youth Coordinator Jill Postma tells us that STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. She says that youth in fourth through eighth grades will be taking part. She says there are several new activities and she highlights some of them for us.

She says there are also several new presenters this year. Postma says it’s an all-day event.

Registration is complete for this STEM Fest, but there will be more. Again, it’ll be this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dordt College in Sioux Center.
