Steve King Reflects On Election Win

Sheldon, Iowa — Iowa 4th District Republican US Representative Steve King visited the KIWA studios recently, and talked about the recent election, the ugliness of this year’s campaigns, and what he has taken away from the recent election.

Although King was victorious in keeping his congressional seat, he had a much closer race this time than in previous elections.

King talked about some of the negative ads aimed at him during the campaign.

He thanked the voters who looked past the negative advertising, and cast their ballot for him.

Congressman King told KIWA that our four county area here in northwest Iowa came through for him in a big way this election.

He says he’s planning to take a different approach in response to the name-calling he said has been following him.

King says that, going forward, he’s going to make sure that the public knows what he’s doing, and when he’ll be holding meetings in the area.

King defeated his Democratic challenger, Sioux City paralegal J.D. Scholten in the mid-term general election on Tuesday, November 6th to earn another two years representing tthe 4th District.
