The Last Commercial Chaos For A Cure Will Be Saturday

Sanborn, Iowa — As the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” and that is coming for Commercial Chaos for a Cure on Saturday.

Founder of Commercial Chaos for a Cure, Paul Schelling, tells us that Commercial Chaos for a Cure officially began in 2014, with the goal to give back to the community by raising money for cancer treatments locally. He says another plus was truckers were able to gather and have fun together. It has been almost 10 years and, together, truckers who have participated have gathered 180 thousand dollars for the June E Nylen Cancer Center, which is located in Sioux City. This donation has helped the center buy a TrueBeam Image Guided Radiotherapy machine, says Schelling.

He tells us this year’s final event will be on Saturday, and will begin at 8 a.m. with the Poker Run. When the Poker Run returns to Sanborn there will be a free will donation lunch and raffles, with the Jake Brake Contest afterwards. There will be a Tractor Pull at 4 p.m., which will be free to watch. All proceeds will go to the June E Nylen Cancer Center.

Schelling says Saturday will be the last event because he, and the board members, thought 10 years was a good stopping point. The organization, he says, have been very successful with raising money and it would be good to end positively.

Again, Commercial Chaos for a Cure is Saturday, July 22nd, beginning at 8 a.m. in Sanborn.
