Statewide Iowa — If you’ve never been fishing or if you love it and haven’t had the chance to get your fishing license, this weekend is free fishing weekend statewide.
Tyler Stubbs, a Community Fishing Biologist with the Iowa DNR, tells us the first full weekend in June is always the free fishing weekend. He says this year it will begin on Friday and end on Sunday. Stubbs tells us more about it.
Stubbs says though you can fish without a license all the other rules and regulations still matter.
When asked if talking while fishing scared away the fish Stubbs had this to say.
