Northwest Iowa — Over the past few weeks here in the northwest Iowa area we’ve been hearing many stories about traffic crashes involving deer.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Vince Kurtz says an important thing to remember is, “Don’t Veer for Deer”.
If you do end up striking a deer with your vehicle, Kurtz says don’t forget to notify law enforcement.
He says your best bet is to get a report done right away, since many insurance companies won’t pay a claim without an accident report from law enforcement.
Kurtz made his comments during an appearance earlier this month on the KIWA Morning Show with Wayne and Aaron.
