Trooper: People Will Gamble On The Big Game, But Don’t Gamble With Your Safety Or Other People’s Lives

Northwest Iowa — This is the weekend for the big football game. And while a lot of planning will be taking place regarding where to watch the game, what snacks to serve, and those types of decisions, the Iowa State Patrol is asking you to make another plan. Plan how you or your guests will get home safely after the game.

Trooper Kevin Krull of the Iowa State Patrol says a number of people have a lot riding on the outcome of the game, but there is one bet that you don’t have to make.

Krull says it’s a simple decision that can easily be made before you leave for the game. How are you going to get home? He says fans don’t let other fans drive drunk.

Krull says an average of 37 people per day in the United States die at the hands of an impaired driver. He says the equation is easy. If you drink, don’t drive.
