Truckload Of Water Arrives In Sheldon TX

Sheldon, Iowa — (Sheldon, Texas) — A semi loaded with 36-thousand bottles of drinking water arrived at the Sheldon Independent School District in the community of Sheldon, Texas Monday morning, marking the first load of relief supplies to be delivered in the Sheldon IA 4 Sheldon TX Hurricane Harvey relief effort.

The semi, driven by volunteer Rick Holtrop, departed northwest Iowa Sunday morning, and arrived in Sheldon TX Monday.  Fuel for the trip was paid for through community donations, including a $1,000 donation from POET Biorefining at Ashton.

Robert Lopez is Warehouse Operations Specialist for the Sheldon ISD in Texas, and he says this truckload of water will help “a lot.”

Lopez says they were surprised when they found out there was a Sheldon, Iowa.

He says that parts of Houston still have issues with flood waters, but the community pulls together.  He says they are VERY grateful to the people of Sheldon, Iowa for their assistance.
