Two Escape Injury In Plymouth County Plane Crash

Kingsley, Iowa — Two people escaped injury Labor Day afternoon when their small  airplane crashed about 5 miles east of Kingsley, in Plymouth County.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, they were advised shortly after 3:00 pm on Monday of a small plane that had crashed in a field near the intersection of C66 and Tamarack. Kingsley Fire and Ambulance, along with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol all responded to the scene.

Authorities say the pilot and his passenger were not injured in the crash. The plane was located about 75 yards into a cornfield. Plymouth County authorities say they have been in contact with the Sioux Gateway Airport Tower and the Federal Aviation Administration. Officials say the crash scene will be secured pending the completion of an investigation.
