Statewide Iowa — Iowa’s unemployment rate held at two-point-six percent in November. Iowa Workforce Development Bureau Chief Donna Burkett, says there continued to be a back and forth between jobs gained and jobs lost. There were 11-hundred more unemployed Iowans in November compared to October.

Iowa’s unemployment rate still remains well below the national rate of three-point-five percent, and remains one of the lowest in the country.

Many of the job loses came in the private sector.

Job gains have been highest in the personal services area.

The total number of working Iowans was up by 82-hundred compared to October to one-million-711-thousand-700. That is 60-thousand-400 higher than one year ago.
