United Fund Drive Donations Slow Down Somewhat

Sheldon, Iowa — Donations to the 2018 Sheldon United Fund are slowing down a bit, but the drive is still doing well.

The drive continues through the rest of the year. The goal this year is $31,000.

The fund drive is now 31% finished. The funds are at about 43% of goal, at $13,210. Over $17,500 has yet to be raised. To finish on goal, the drive now needs to average about $2000 per week through the rest of the year. In the last week, donors gave $1250.

Contributions to any or all of the organizations served by the Sheldon United Fund may be left at any of the four Sheldon banks, or you can also send them to PO Box 41, Sheldon, IA 51201. Explanations of the organizations are also available at the banks.

Each week we’re mentioning a few of the organizations that can benefit from your donations. This time the list includes:

·Sanford Sheldon Home Health & Hospice
·Sheldon Recreational Trails
·Sheldon Youth Activities – Scholarships
·Special Olympics, Iowa
·Upper Des Moines Opportunity
·Village Northwest Unlimited (for therapy equipment)

The United Fund will be assisting 21 different organizations in Sheldon and the surrounding communities this year, and the board members would like to thank the businesses and individuals of Sheldon and the surrounding community for their continued support.
