Archer, Iowa — The United Methodist Church in Archer will have their Lord’s Acre Day on Saturday, November 5th.
Pastor Jacob Sandholm tells KIWA this is the 70th annual Lord’s Acre Day. When it began it was a way for farmers to donate an acre of their crop to the church. Today it’s more about fellowship, according to Sandholm.
Sandholm tells us that Lord’s Acre Day begins with a Worship Service at 10 a.m. He then explains other activities they have planned.
They will have a room where the items for the silent auction are. People can walk through and write down what they are willing to spend on whichever item they want, Sandholm explains to KIWA.
He says the live auction will even have a live auctioneer. Sandholm tells KIWA what any money collected will go to.
Sandholm also wants to add that everyone is welcome to join them.
