Primghar, Iowa — Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Primghar is having an open house this Friday, June 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Brenda Collier with Upper Des Moines says they decided to host the open house because they’d actually been getting phone calls asking what it is that they actually do.
According to Collier, they actually do quite a bit.
She says they don’t have it in their office, but Upper Des Moines also works with the Head Start program in O’Brien County, and the Head Start people will be at the Back To School Bash at Upper Des Moines in July. Also, WIC (the Women, Infants, and Children program) is also connected to Upper Des Moines. She says people can find the phone numbers for Head Start and WIC through the Upper Des Moines web site at www.udmo.com. They also work with LIHEAP — the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program that helps families pay a part of their heating bill.
Again, the open house is this Friday, from 9 to 1 at the Upper Des Moines office in Primghar.
