Village, Hope Haven Celebrate Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week

Northwest Iowa — Direct Support Professionals are on the front lines when it comes to caring for people with disabilities. And organizations like Village Northwest Unlimited and Hope Haven are highlighting their contributions this week for Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, September 12th through the 18th.

At Village Northwest Unlimited, Director of Human Resources Brian Robyn tells us what a Direct Support Professional is.

And Robyn says the “Direct Support Professional” label applies to most of their staff at the Village.

Meanwhile, Hope Haven CEO Matt Buley says Hope Haven employs nearly 400 DSPs to serve individuals in Iowa and Minnesota. He says, “On the frontline of our services and at the heart of our programs are DSPs and the leads and supervisors who support them. There is no Hope Haven without them. Individual milestones, independent living, and community inclusion happen every day because of what they do and who they are. I am grateful and proud to work with them!”
