Sheldon, Iowa — The 41st annual meeting of Village Northwest Unlimited, in Sheldon, was held recently at the Village Wansink Center, with 83 members of the corporation in attendance.
Attendees elected four incumbents to serve three-year terms on Village Northwest Unlimited’s Board of Directors: Joel Orthmann of Marcus, and Greg Geels of Sheldon, were elected to serve a third term; Duane Muecke of Sheldon, and Randy Feenstra of Hull, were elected to serve a second term; Dennis Ten Clay of Sheldon, was elected to his first term, taking the place of retiring board member Dr. Scott Lichty of Sheldon.
Other Board members are: Village Northwest Unlimited President & CEO Barry Whitsell; Board Chairperson Pam Thornton; Treasurer Lyle Kuiper; Cindy Barwick, Heidi Brown and Kathy Landhuis, all of Sheldon; Dan DeKoter, of Spirit Lake; Ruth Hobson of Lake Park; and Pastor Doris Lindley of Sanborn.
VNU’s Chief Financial Officer, Justin Jonas, reviewed the yearly financial report. The organization also recognized Kevin Ten Haken, of Boyden, for his service on the VNU Foundation Board.
Village Northwest Unlimited is a provider of services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and traumatic brain injuries. The Village builds successful lives for 182 individuals by providing opportunities and choices in residential, vocational and social programs while fulfilling its mission of providing Purpose, Privacy and Dignity.
