VNU Independence Day Celebration Is Tonight, But In A New Location

Sheldon, Iowa — One of the most eagerly-anticipated events of the summer happens this Friday night in Sheldon.

Village Northwest Unlimited’s Independence Day Celebration is scheduled for this Friday night, July 2nd. Village President and CEO Barry Whitsell says they’re excited to have the celebration this year, especially after last year’s event had to be canceled due to the pandemic.

Whitsell talks about the location for this year’s celebration.

He says holding the event at the RiseFest grounds will provide those attending with a great vantage point for viewing the gigantic fireworks display.

The Village Northwest Independence Day Celebration will be held this Friday night, July 2nd at the RiseFest grounds, located just north of the intersection of Highway 18 and Country Club Road in northeast Sheldon. Gates will open at 5:30.
