VNU Music Class Visits KIWA Studios

Sheldon, Iowa — All month long music directors and residents of Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon have made a tour of area radio stations, ending with a visit to KIWA Wednesday morning.

VNU Music Director Amanda Van Otterloo says the visits are part of the curriculum for Music class.

She says the purpose of the visits was to discuss the different aspects of music, and they thought radio would be the ideal way to do so.

While at KIWA the group toured one of our studios, learned about different radio program formats, and  learned how the music gets from the radio station studio to a transmitter site about half-a-mile away, and how it makes its way from the tower to their radios.

Following the studio tour the group posed for a photo before departing the radio station.
