Sheldon, Iowa — If you need help filing your taxes, help might be as close as Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.
NCC is again working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or “VITA” site. Sue Behrens, the VITA site coordinator says students in the college’s Accounting program, Administrative Secretarial program, and Health Information Technology program are working together to provide the assistance. She tells us specifically what help they provide.
Behrens says they’ve been helping people for several years, and tells us how it got started years ago.
NCC Business Instructor Janet Boone tells us how you can make an appointment.
Health Information Technologies program director Mari Beth Lane tells us how her students get involved.
Again, if you’d like to make an appointment, you can call 712-324-5061 or 800-352-4907, extension 183 to leave a message and an administrative secretarial student will contact you to schedule an appointment.
