Sheldon, Iowa — While in Sheldon Friday on the first stop of their tour to the southwestern United States, the Wartburg College Wind Ensemble conducted a clinic for Sheldon Middle School musicians.
Middle School Band Director Jeana Larson tells us about the event.
Larson says her students really enjoyed the experience.
She says the attention to detail demonstrated by the Wartburg Wind Ensemble really stuck out to her students.
Larson says there were two Orab alums who are a part of the Wartburg College group.
Following Friday afternoon’s clinic, the Wartburg Wind Ensemble performed a public concert at the Sheldon High School. The group spent Friday night in Sheldon, courtesy of a group of host families, before departing Sheldon Saturday morning.

Sheldon, Iowa — The Wartburg College Wind Ensemble will perform in Sheldon Friday, April 20th, as they begin a tour to the southwestern United States.
Sheldon High School Instrumental Music Teacher Cliff St. Clair tells us about the group’s stop in Sheldon.
St. Clair says the group will be spending the night in Sheldon, and host families are needed to provide lodging, along with two meals, for the musicians.
He talks about what will be expected of the host families.
