Western Christian High School Opens Thrift Store In Hull

Hull, Iowa — Western Christian High School in Hull has opened a thrift store, The Bargain Alley Thrift Store, is located in Hull. Western’s Wes Fopma says it is the first thrift store in Northwest Iowa that supports the mission of Christian Education.

Fopma says the idea of a thrift store came as Western Christian’s Board of Directors were looking for alternative sources of revenue.

He says Western found a home for their thrift store in an old bowling alley.

Fopma says once Western had secured the building, volunteers came in and demo’d out the interior, then rebuilt it as a thrift store. However, he says, they wanted to keep some of the history of the building.

He talks about some of the merchandise you’ll find at the Bargain Alley.

Fopma says the Bargain Alley is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9 to 5, Friday from 9 to 4, and Saturday from 9 to 2. He says they’re closed on Sunday and Monday.

If you’d like to donate items to the Bargain Alley, or if you’d like to volunteer, Fopma says you can stop during regular store hours.
