Sheldon, Iowa — Parents and teachers in the Sheldon area have had the opportunity over the last couple of days to become educated about the length to which some teens will go to hide contraband from their parents.
The Iowa Narcotics Officers Association had their What You Can’t See and What They Don’t Want You to Know trailer parked in front of the Sheldon High School Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Sheldon Police Officer Jett Korver explains the purpose of this trailer, and the display it contains.
Korver says the interior of the trailer is set up to look like the bedroom of a typical teenager.
Those who toured the trailer were asked to take a short survey both before and after going inside the display.
Officer Korver says some of the hiding places people come up with are very creative.
In fact, he says, even some 30 year law enforcement veterans missed some of the hiding spots demonstrated in the trailer.
KIWA was allowed to tour the trailer, but we weren’t allowed to take any photos inside because, as Officer Korver said, they “don’t want teens to see the display and get ideas from it.”
