Sheldon, Iowa — You’d think with all the snow on the ground, a white Christmas would be a given. But according to the National Weather Service, it’s a lot iffier than it would seem.
Samantha Garrett, a meteorologist with the Sioux Falls office of the National Weather Service tells us the “issue” is going to be the nice few days expected before Christmas, and the precip-free forecast.
She says she’s not sure that there will be any snow left, and wouldn’t even give it a 50 percent chance.
While that would seem to mean good news for Christmas and New Year’s travelers, Garrett says — not so fast.
She gives us some travel advice.
Even if we don’t get a white Christmas this year, you can always take a page out of Bing Crosby’s book and dream about one.
